============================ MAH JONGG ============================
Detailed information is available within the game, so that this file does
not need to be a complete set of instructions, or description of Mah Jongg.
The tiles have been carefully copied from an authentic Asian bone-and-bamboo
set, and not from one of the plastic sets mass-produced in the East for
export to the West. They do not, therefore, include explanatory English
markings. However, full information about the tiles can be reached from
inside the game.
The play is carried forward almost entirely by use of the SELECT button
on the mouse.
The information pages are available as the game begins, but also at any
time during the course of the game - by pressing together the two
keys I-N.
You can decide that play shall end at the conclusion of the current hand,
by pressing together the two keys E-N.
The other signal you may wish to give is A-U, which arranges for the
open hand to be played automatically. This is reversed by pressing H-U,
to re-establish human control.
The computer-controlled players have Chinese names in pin-yin script using
letters of the roman alphabet. Their given names come from the two lists
below. Note: "X" and "Q" are pronounced, respectively, as "sh" and "ch".
